This document describes the required hardware and supporting software necessary to operate Epitomax®.  It outlines:

Software Requirements

Ad-hoc Reports

A single user copy of Sybase InfoMaker is included with Epitomax.

Crystal Reports or the reporting software of your choice can also be used.  Many free reporting solutions are also available.

Server Requirements

·          Not relevant for ASP customers since PsyTech Solutions, Inc. will provide and manage all servers.

·          For single-server configurations (appropriate for approximately 40 or fewer users), the server is acting as an Application Server, and a Database Server.

·          Larger organizations may require more than one server; responsibilities can be split among one or more Application Server(s) and Database Server(s).

Workstation Requirements

PsyTech Solutions, Inc. requires a dedicated Support Workstation for remote access (Internet connection) by PsyTech Solutions, Inc.  The workstation must have DB Artisan® installed on it.  DB Artisan is off-the-shelf software available from Embarcadero Technologies®.  Dedicated Support Workstation not relevant for ASP customers.

Printer Requirements

·          Paper Claims and Patient Statements must be printed on a PostScript compatible printer.  High-speed HP Laser printers are recommended.

·          Small reports can be printed on DeskJet or Desktop Laser printers.

High-Speed Internet Connection

T1, DSL, or Cable Modem, accompanied by a firewall that provides VPN capability.

For connectivity to tools on the Internet and remote access by PsyTech Solutions, Inc.’s Customer Support Center.

Email

Your primary support contact must have an Internet email address.

UPS

UPS (uninterruptible power supply) for the file server.  Enough battery power is needed to support the server(s) for 20 minutes without power

Also recommended: a program that automatically shuts down the server during a power loss (e.g. Powerchute).

Both of these items are optional but highly recommended.

Network Attached Backup

Appropriate tape or on-line backup solution.

It must be able to backup the database even when it is active and must be accompanied by an agent capable of working with the selected database.

Load Balancer

Appropriate load balancer (e.g. Cisco or F5 Load Balancer appliance and software).

Only necessary when more than one Application Server is used.

Virtual Private Network (VPN)

Cisco VPN 3000 Concentrator or better.

Necessary for system support.  Can also be used by customers to remotely access their own system securely.
